When it comes to choosing a baby photographer in Sydney, pricing is an important factor in who you decide to choose. There are lots of baby photographers here in Sydney, with different levels of experience, different pricing structures and product offerings. What are some of the things you should be on the look out for?
Baby Photography Pricing Tip #1 - All Inclusive or A La Carte
Some photographers charge a flat fee for the session and deliver digital files only. Other photographers like myself, present the best images from your session and then clients decide how many images they'd like to purchase. The most important thing is that you are spending an amount that you feel comfortable with, and your chosen photographer has been upfront about any charges before your session.
How do I charge? I have a session fee to book your session, then you can choose from 3 different digital packages after you are presented with your gallery of images. I also sell products including wall art and albums but these are optional extras and there is never any pressure to purchase anything in addition to a digital package.
Baby Photography Pricing Tip #2 - Beware of Getting Lured in Cheap and Hit With The "Hard Sell"
BEWARE of photographers who lure you in for a session with a ridiculously cheap "special" price with only a handful of images included. It's likely that their pricing model is based on making their money when they pressure you with hard selling tactics to get you to upgrade.
There are many of these baby photographers operating in Sydney. I have heard stories of clients going in to a session with a gift voucher for a session and a few images, and walking away from their purchasing appointment spending $5000+ on overpriced wall art!
It's always a good idea to opt for photographers who have a clear pricing structure so you're not stung when you inevitably fall in love with your baby's photographs and can't say no.
Baby Photography Pricing Tip #3 - It's Not Just About the Pricing
Pricing is a huge factor in choosing your baby photographer, but please don't let it be the ONLY reason that you choose one photographer over another. Make sure that you love the images in your potential photographer's portfolio. It's no use getting a great deal on cheap photography if you won't actually like the photos you receive. Remember that these are precious fleeting moments that you can never get back. Choose the best photographer that you can afford and you will never regret your decision.

How do I charge? I've tried to make my pricing as simple as I can for my clients! 1. Before your session, you pay a session fee which books your place in my calendar and covers the cost of the actual photo session and hosting of your online gallery
2. After your session, you are sent the link to your online shopping cart where you get to see the best images from your baby's photo shoot. Simply select from 3 digital file packages (10 images, 20 images, or all of the gallery images). Add on any products if you wish. DONE!
